911 or the ER: medical emergencies.

If it’s a real emergency, call 911 first. A medical emergency is something life-threatening that requires immediate medical care to prevent death or serious impairment of health, including severe pain, bad injury, a worsening illness or medical condition.

 

988: the number for emergency emotional help.

For those in deep emotional distress who are worried about harming themselves or others, you can call, text or chat 988 and reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, where you’ll be connected immediately to trained counselors.

Feeling unwell and want to see someone in person? Members can use any MinuteClinic® location in North Texas and throughout the U.S., for quick, non-emergency care and additional health services – as well as access to virtual care.

Your primary care physician is your first stop for routine and preventative care. No one knows you or your medical needs better. But if you or a family member is sick or injured, and can’t get an appointment right away, we have other simple, low-cost ways to get you the care you need.

When you really need to see someone right away, we have over 200 in-network urgent care and walk-in clinics, including:

A medical emergency is an event that you reasonably believe threatens your or someone else’s life or limb in such a manner that immediate medical care is needed to prevent death or serious impairment of health. A medical emergency includes severe pain, bad injury, a serious illness or a medical condition that is quickly getting much worse.

*DispatchHealth delivers convenient, high-quality acute care services to your home through a care team that includes nurse practitioners, physician assistants, with an on-call board-certified ER physician always available by phone. Teams are available between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays. DispatchHealth is not currently available in all areas within DFW. As DispatchHealth continues to expand, so will their service area.
